Choosing a suitable Capacitor for High Voltage and/or High Power applications

By capacitor functions, as different capacitor function needs different electrical and mechanical parameters.
Voltage : AC, DC, DC+AC, Pulse Voltage (Peak + Reversal range), with different voltage profile and frequency combination, the capacitor will have a very different current requirement.
Capacitance
The Capacitor Current :
i. RMS Current Irms
ii. Pulse / Peak / Peak + Reversal discharge Current
iii. dv/dt
Both Reversal Current and Voltage have to take into account.
Capacitor Ambient Temperature, Capacitor Connection, Capacitor Installation and Capacitor size.
